COLOURS IN NATURE

Our natural world is a splash     of eye-catching                      Colours.                 Earth itself has been called the 'blue planet'                          because when viewed from outer space it has                                  a distinctive blue colour. Shades of green found in nature are largely due to plants. A plants called chlorophyll gives leaves and vegetation their green colour. But as spring unfolds to autumn, the chlorophyll in leaves decay. Little by little, the green colour fades and is repl...

LIVING RAINFORESTS

"...if the EYE attempts to follow the flight of a gaudy butter-fly, it is arrested by some strange tree or or fruit; if WATCHING an insect one forgets it in the stranger flower it is crawling over...." But before you adventure into this treasure trove of nature which houses more than 50% of all the world's plant and animals species, here's something about some of the wild residents you might come across in a rainforest... Rainforests provide shelter to millions of life forms, some yet to be discovered. One rainforest in...

Albert Einstein's Famous Inventions

The most influential physicist of the 20th century, Albert Einstein made numerous contributions based on his theories that have benefited the world. While he was not an inventor by trade, Einstein invented a refrigerator that functioned without electricity. It may be adaptable into an eco-friendly version 70 years after he invented it. Many of Einstein's "inventions" were his theoretical concepts that laid the groundwork for future scientific research in other fields. Special Theory of Relativity(STR) Einstein's major contribution as an inventor was his theory of relativity of e=m*c*c, the relationship of energy and mass. The formula played a critical part in the development of atomic power that lead to the creation of weapons used to end World War II. Although Einstein did not design the atomic bomb, he encouraged President Franklin Roosevelt to develop and use it before Germany did. Atomic energy had led to new technologies including its use as a power source. Qu...
